Chapter 36: Unexpected Visitor
**POV: Autumn Blackwood (Not MC)**
“Hi Autumn!”
I froze, completely immobilized.
*Sigh* I should have known better. I just jinxed it by thinking it was impossible for anyone to sneak up on me.
But how could someone manage that? The only logical explanation is that this person is stronger than me. And that’s saying something, since I’m supposedly the strongest magic-user around, or at least that’s what I’ve always believed.
But who could it be? Could it be her? That seems like a reasonable guess. But why would she show up now of all times? I’ve only seen her once in my entire lifetime. Just once!
I quickly turned around to confirm my suspicions.
Yup, it’s her.

“What are you doing here?”
“Can’t I visit?”
“I’m not saying you can’t visit, but why now?”
“That, I can’t tell you. But you’ll find out in the future.”
“Ugh... fine.”
“Blackwood, come sit with me.”
Before I could even process it, I found myself sitting across from her. Her rainbow-like eyes and black hair, which seemed to sparkle with stars, matched her perfectly. If someone told me she was the epitome of beauty, I’d believe it without question.
“Go on, ask me anything you’d like.”
I looked at her, and I could tell from her eyes that she wouldn’t answer all my questions—at least not right now.
“Why did you create witches and wizards?”
“Oh, you already knew? That’s a bit new to me.”
“What do you mean? Have you created other things?”
“Let’s just say those ‘things’ went extinct for certain reasons, shall we?”
**POV: Autumn (MC)**
“Let’s just say those ‘things’ went extinct for certain reasons, shall we?”
That’s a neat way to dodge the question. It helps her understand that I’ve only created witches and wizards for now, and also suggests that the previous creations had problems, which is why they don’t exist anymore.
I forced a smile, making the atmosphere a bit eerie. Who wouldn’t feel unsettled when someone talks about extinct populations with a smile like that?
“Alright... but you still haven’t answered my question.”
She gave me a look that was both cute and a little bit intimidating. Just like Selina, but in a different way. I guess there are different kinds of cuteness, though I’m not sure of all the types.
Anyway, I’m drifting off. Should I tell her the real reason behind my creations? That it was purely for experimentation and entertainment? Or should I make up some elaborate story?
“Well, you see... I was bored.”
“You were bored..? That’s your reason?”
Oops, maybe I should have come up with a better excuse.
“Actually, it was really boring being alone. Watching my creations and their unpredictable events was a form of entertainment for me.”
“You’re crazy, you know that, right?”
“I wouldn’t say I’m crazy... just have a different perspective.”
And here we go again. She’s giving me that look. She even pouted a little, though she might not have realized it.
“It’s like how you have theatres, dancers, and performers, but on a much larger scale.”
“So, you’re saying you created us after your previous creations went extinct just for ‘entertainment’?”
“Mhm.”
“You really are crazy! Who in their right mind would watch wars and see millions of innocent lives lost just for entertainment?”
“Apparently me. Though I haven’t actually seen any of the wars.”
“What do you mean you haven’t seen any of the wars?”
“I’ve been sleeping.”
“Sleeping? How can someone sleep for over 400,000 years?!”
“Time works differently for me.”
“Then how can you talk to me right now?”
“Take a guess. Even I’m not sure.”
She gave me another look, one that clearly said she was done trying to understand.
“So, you create things to entertain yourself.”
“Yes.”
“And you find it entertaining even when lives are lost?”
“It doesn’t affect me directly, does it?”
“Sigh~, what’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing at all.”
“Alright, what if I tell others about this conversation?”
“You won’t.”
“How do you know I won’t talk to others about this?”
“Because you won’t remember it. At least not until it’s meant for you to remember.”
I might have given away too much. It would be problematic if she spoiled the unpredictability of what’s to come.
**‘Use Major Skill: Creation to create Minor Skill: Lock.’** *(In Autumn (MC)'s mind)*
I gently touched her forehead with my finger.
**‘Use Minor Skill: Lock to lock away all memories for the past 10 minutes, and let them resurface when the time is right.’**
A white glow emanated from my finger, and I quickly opened a crack in space, leaving a dazed Autumn Blackwood behind.
