Chapter 127: She Put It On Speaker Instead Of A Private Call

This is the Dropkick technique I was taught.

Ignore everything around you—the kidnapper’s threats, everyone’s warnings—just jump and kick. That’s the secret to successfully executing this skill.

This time, my target was even more unfortunate because instead of my bare feet, I had a thick sheet of ice attached to them. I’ll call this the “Ice Dropkick” (authored by Kanna).

The secret is simple: the time it right with your dominant leg, jump forward and unleash a kick with all your might without hesitation.

Thanks to the momentum from the ice board, I could increase the impact force of the kick severalfold. The ice under my feet also made it easier to adjust the kick’s direction to avoid hitting young Marito nearby. Since the target absorbed all the propulsion force, I could quickly regain my aerial position and land in place.

However, the moment my kick connected with the kidnapper’s body, I sensed something wasn’t quite right.

Right, it couldn’t be that easy, could it?

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?????”

But before I could figure out what was wrong, Faima had already lunged at me, shaking me like never before, making her enormous chest sway with the motion.

“I told you to stop, didn’t I say he had a hostage? How could you just charge at him without saying anything? The hostage could have died! Are you stupid??? @#!@$@@!!$$#…….”

“Alright, alright… calm ddown”

“You dare tell ME to calm down????”

Come on, My Lady, could you calm down a bit…? Looking around, I saw everyone else still standing with their mouths agape, unable to close them after witnessing what I’d just done.

Fair enough—suddenly both the hostage and kidnapper had been blown away.

Sigh… this will take some explaining…

But after a few seconds, someone finally snapped out of their daze.

“Calm down, Faima, I’ll explain the situation.”

Taking a deep breath, I grabbed the arms that were shaking me like a pendulum. Though slightly startled and resistant, she finally stopped.

“I hope you have a good explanation for this…”

“Yes, yes, I understand… But first, those mages hiding in the forest—I’ve already kicked their butts.”

After temporarily calming Faima, I returned to the main issue. They hadn’t known what happened in the forest yet.

“Oh… you already did?”

Though still a bit flustered, Faima finally regained her composure. Her strange expression made me give a bitter smile.

Back to the two who’d been blown away. The kidnapper was gradually regaining consciousness. Despite taking my dropkick head-on, he still hadn’t let go of his sword.

“You bastard, how dare you…”

The kidnapper in military uniform shouted an obscenity and struggled to stand up using his sword as support. So he wasn’t completely unharmed. Thanks for reading on ManaNovel!

“So, what should we do with him now? Ah…”

“Ha…”

Before we had time to think, the kidnapper tried to lunge and grab Marito, who was still lying nearby, attempting to take another hostage. But before his hand could reach his target, my two ice shurikens got there first.

“Too bad for you, I won’t be negotiating for hostages anymore.”

Immediately, I raised my hand to create an ice spike and pressed it against his head.

The kidnapper froze, seemingly petrified. Meanwhile, Faima’s voice was echoing in my ear, though it was too loud to make out anything.

Pressing the ice spike closer to the kidnapper’s head, I turned back to yell at Faima, who was still trying to concentrate on magically shouting something at me.

“Hey, can’t you just talk normally? Keep screaming with that volume much longer and my eardrums will burst!”

“What choice did I have? He demanded I contact you across such a huge distance—I had to increase the volume for it to reach you!”

“Then you should have canceled it sooner, I’m right in front of you now!”

“How could I with that sudden move of yours???”

While we were still arguing, a roar echoed across the battlefield. It seemed Faima’s communication spell, amplified to such extreme volumes, had broadcast not only to me but to the entire battlefield the details of what happened in the forest. Right after, more roars followed, and dragons began spreading their wings and taking flight. With no more obstacles or dangers in their way, they quickly accelerated and reached maximum altitude.

At the standard height, the Dragon Knights readied their long spears, the dragons extended their claws, and both dove straight down at the monsters below, painting them in a spectacular festival of blood. Swooping near the ground at speeds beyond the monsters’ ability to resist, the dragons soared back into the sky.

Each aerial strike from the dragons cleared out a large swath of monsters, their numbers diminishing with each diving pass.

This must be the true power of the Dragon Corps, the strongest force of the Diagal Empire’s Knight Order.

Though I’d heard many stories, it wasn’t until I saw it with my own eyes that I believed it was real.

Well, with them here, the monsters are no longer a concern.

“Agaht, check if Marito is okay. Kiska, please take care of the two Knights.”

“Understood.”

“Got it.”

Rand quickly delegated tasks.

Kiska promptly continued her duty.

And Agaht rushed toward Marito.

“Wait…”

Just like with the kidnapper, I threw two ice shurikens to stop Agaht’s steps right before he reached Marito.

“Hey, are you trying to kill someone?”

“Calm down, brother, we still have some things to clear up.”

After reassuring Agaht, I turned around.

“The boy and this guy too—they’re not as simple as they appear. Tell me, who are you ”

Hearing me say that, a strange smile spread across the kidnapper’s face.

“Ah… that’s right.”

I immediately shifted my attention from the kidnapper to the boy named Marito and shot out a sharp ice spike.
