Adamantine Dragon

Chapter 59 - Dreamlike Part 1

With Nova storming out, Marc completely forgot about Claire taking his items away. His brows furrowed slightly as he continued to look into the distance for a while longer, but in the end, he did not follow the witch. Right now, he owed Mersa an explanation before anything, plus how could he suddenly abandon Celina at this moment?

He turned back to look straight at the giant M-God before him.

[Marc: Is that all, Commander Claire?]

[Claire: … Yes, at ease. Sergeant Celina, Private Marc, dismissed.]

After studying his expression for a while, Claire was satisfied. On his face, she could find a trace of guilt that he was currently suppressing, and that convinced her that he was worth her trust. Although he was definitely dangerous in terms of the amount of destruction he could potentially cause, his character was not a danger in itself.

[Marc: *Nod* Za, come.]

[Celina: Ah! Yes! *Salute*]

After giving Claire a last glance, he jumped off the white platform, and Celina quickly followed, flying off after him.

The height was not that high, so he had no problems reaching the ground. In just several dash-like steps, he appeared before Mersa, and before he could say anything, she stepped up and gave him a big hug.

[Mersa: I know Vor-chan, save it for the audience.]

She whispered. Mersa’s womanly intuition was not lacking in any aspect; moreover, she had been mentally prepared for this for quite some time now. To say that it did not affect her at all would be a lie. Seeing him with Celina did make her hold back her breath and her heart slightly throb, but it was quickly dispelled with that hug.

That’s right, she could still hug him all she wanted and more. She had not lost anything. It was exactly as Ana-nee explained. Having Marc all to herself was too selfish. Furthermore, she could only imagine how painful it must have been for both Nova and Celina...

[Mersa: I’m so glad that you two are safe! It’s all done. Let’s go back!]

She said aloud with a genuine smile and then grabbed Marc’s and Celina’s arms, activated her photons, and quickly flew off towards the distance.

From Celina’s point of view, everything was going too fast.

Out of nowhere, those strange feelings came over her, and she just could not help herself but to jump towards her source of safety to escape those dreadful emotions of alienation. And when she came back to reality, she was tightly clutching Vorst’s arm like there was no tomorrow.

Then there was Nova, who abruptly left, clearly filled with rage. That caused uneasiness to completely fill her. The heavy reality of the situation finally hit her, making her dizzy. It was like cold water poured over her to wake her up from that wonderful dream.

[Marc: Za, come.]

Come. Come. Come, he said. She met his gaze, and his green pupils deeply dug into hers. He said to come, and who was she to refuse him? She did not remember anything else, just following after him because by following him, she could stay by his side for a little longer…

Mersa appeared. Camellia Mersa. Celina suddenly felt as if someone had put her insides into a mixer and turned it on MAX. How could she explain this to the wolf girl?

Then unexpectedly, Mersa did not get angry but grabbed her by the arm and led her into their house.

Mersa’s and Vorst’s house.

What was going on?!!!!

The spectating crowd that was left behind was completely speechless.

Then, like a bubble bursting open, an uproar was immediately raised. They were all comprised mostly of young women, after all.

Furthermore, there were barely any casualties on the Alliance’s side, just quite a number of heavy wounds.

First, the battle wasn’t that long.

Second, Kaya’s special Main Drone was incredibly efficient in saving lives on their side.

Third, they were in a defensive position and equipped with state-of-the-art defenses.

Fourth, this was a place where the Alliance’s most elite talents were brought up.

Fifth, the opponent’s elites were all focused on bringing down the only male among them. That male.

Claire had a difficult expression on her face.

Celina was confused.

The flight lasted for an instant, yet that moment of silence felt like an eternity spent in hell.

Then all three entered a spacious room, where she was released from Mersa’s iron-like grip. A holo monitor, which had been left turned on before, was buzzing with the voices of several people.

However, right now, Celina could not even comprehend the words coming from the holo-monitors. She was so confused that the people on the screen seemed to speak an alien language.

Besides, that was not important right now. Butterflies in her stomach were buzzing even harder. Celina could not think clearly. She did not dare to look up at Mersa either. She could not even move. A freezing cold feeling went through her as she started shuddering.

She just could not understand Mersa’s reaction. She could not understand anything. What was going on? Someone tell her, because she felt like she was going crazy…

Then she felt a touch.

In her state of distress, she could not help but jump up! It was like lightning from the sky had struck her out of nowhere.

Suddenly, she felt herself suffocating. It felt like hard iron bars had enveloped her tightly. She could not breathe. In her mind, she yelled for help. And she asked for Vorst...

[Marc: It’s alright now.]

His voice was soft, slow, and most importantly filled with so much certainty that her mind instantly believed him. Unconditionally. The iron bars suddenly turned soft as she realized that she was in his embrace.

And it was like a different kind of lightning went through her, and she slowly eased down. Her body wilted under him as she started to sob, her arms wrapped around him with all her strength.

At this moment, Celina forgot about everything else.

Marc’s gaze was soft as he watched Celina’s sleeping face. The white tiger girl was breathing softly as his hand wandered through her hair. Mersa sat next to him and leaned her head on his shoulder.

[Marc: I’m sorry.]

He said, his conscience once again filled with guilt as his head softly made contact with hers.

[Mersa: There is no need to be sorry, Vor-chan. I’m happy. Hearing you apologize also made me happy. And I... I do not want to see Za-chan sad either…]

She answered, completely flustered as she tried to downplay her role. Embarrassment took over her actions, and he engraved this moment into his heart. Grateful for Mersa’s generosity…

[Marc: I. I will make sure to keep you happy forever, I swear it on my name. Either I uphold this vow or I shall forever renounce my name and my identity.]

[Mersa: Hehehe, I believe that my Vor-chan will. I never doubted you.]

And once again, Marc’s will was reinforced. For he was Vegyla, and Vegyla shall die for their love. His resolve unwavering, as always willing to sacrifice everything to keep them happy. Forever.

In a vast room, there was an enormous stone table that was at least a hundred yards wide. Two ladies were seated on its opposite sides.

[--Kaya--: Lost again, huh.]

The Serpent Lady pulled a crystal figurine among the thousands that were on the table. Although she said that, there was a smile on her face.

[--Lily--: Heh, I won’t be able to call this a win.]

The Demoness also had a smile as she looked upon the table once again.

Those two were geniuses among geniuses when it came to tactics. However, Kaya still had to admit inferiority in front of Lily’s sheer talent. When it came purely to commanding an army and tactical plays, the redhead for the past millennia always claimed victory. Always. By the end of a game, any game, Kaya’s side would be completely obliterated. However, Lily would never accept this outcome as a win. As she looked down upon her side, she could only see a decimated crowd.

Yes, she won. But at what cost? Could losing more than 80% of her army count as a win? No. Lily would never accept that.

[--Lily--: A bad move, huh?]

Pushing aside this little time filler, Lily looked straight at Kaya. The woman sitting in front of her obviously knew what she was asking about.

[--Kaya--: Shujin-sama made a tactically wrong move.]

[--Lily--: He should have gone for Nova first.]

[--Kaya--: *Nod* That’s right, Celina is a much easier target. In fact, after getting Nova, Shujin-sama would get Celina right about immediately after, with much less, or even no pain.]

[--Lily--: *Nod* The ones with a more rational mind should be taken first. Celina is too emotional as a second target; her feelings must be going awry and will have a breakdown… just... about now.]

Those two were not watching the outside world anymore. That’s because they had already finished setting up the stage and held complete confidence in Marc. In fact, they had already foreseen how future events would unfold.

[--Kaya--: Did you tell everything to Shujin-sama?]

[--Lily--: Ehehehe, Shujin-sama was so vigorous with

his interrogation, who am I to resist his skillful questioning?]

[--Kaya--: Witch!]

[--Lily--: Tehee~]

[--Kaya--: It’s fine; you wouldn’t say anything unnecessary.]

[--Lily--: Mhm, still, that tactically inane move…]

[--Kaya--: Shujin-sama doesn’t think about that~]

[--Lily--: Right~]

Both of them let out a soft chuckle as their gaze turned towards the resting place of their links. Their hearts filled with both pride and belonging. Because they knew that he had never thought about them as his targets to conquer. Never in the past and never would he in the future.

He was their Marc - Marcdrak Euharm Maxkael Adajax Emerald Vegyla. And they belonged to him. Belonged with him.
