Chapter 13: Spirit Sense Realm

Massive amounts of Spirit energy continuously rushed into the Dantian, assimilating into the energy whirlpool. As more energy accumulated, the whirlpool’s rotation grew fiercer.

The energy began to flow faster through the Spirit veins, responding to the increasing speed of the whirlpool in the Dantian. This cycle continued for another thirteen turns until all the energy was gathered in the Dantian, leaving no trace anywhere else in the body. A slight pressure emanated from the whirlpool, as if it were straining to break through an obstacle.

With a loud cracking sound within his body, the energy gathered in the Dantian suddenly exploded. It surged like a dragon into the Spirit veins with immense speed. The veins strained under the fierce rush of energy. If not for his special physique and the support of the Root Chakra from his Body Cultivation Technique, his Spirit veins would have been destroyed under the onslaught.

The situation had reversed completely from moments earlier. All the energy rushed out from the Dantian, filling the Spirit veins throughout his body. At the same time, a warm sensation emerged from the base of his spinal cord as Life energy from the Root Chakra flowed into the veins. The Life energy mixed with the Spirit energy, was absorbed by the Spirit veins, stretching and strengthening them. Under this nourishment, the Spirit veins expanded to almost twice their previous size, allowing for much smoother energy flow. The energy completed a revolution through his body before returning to the Dantian and settling down.

The energy in the Dantian now felt like a tamed dragon, lazily moving around as if it owned the place. This process was the first and most dangerous step on the path of cultivation. Only by surviving the Spirit Rush could a cultivator walk the path of true power.

The energy must be assimilated into both the soul and body of the cultivator to achieve true control. Assimilation with the soul occurs when the energy is refined. After refining and gathering a sufficient amount of energy, one can proceed to body assimilation—the Energy Rush—which is a trial every cultivator faces once in their lifetime. Typically, it takes around four months for a genius and nine months for a common talent to achieve the Spirit Sense Realm. The fact that I achieved this feat so quickly can be attributed to my unique physique and strong soul, which supports the large number of fragmentations. Without these features, ascending from the Mortal level to the Spirit Sense Realm in such a short time would be considered impossible.

As I was basking in thoughts of my achievement, something unexpected happened. The energy lying dormant in my Dantian suddenly rushed to my chest area and disappeared. My mind went blank. I had an urge to bang my head against the wall and tear out my hair in frustration.

Before I could curse out loud, the area where the Soul Realm resides suddenly became warm. The warmth gradually increased until it felt scorching hot, as though a hot iron rod had branded my chest. I groaned in pain, and suddenly, the energy that had been absorbed rushed out. The energy gathered in the Dantian again before settling down as if nothing had happened. The hot sensation disappeared along with the energy rush.

This time, I felt exasperated and somewhat tired of trying to figure out the source of these incidents. I accepted that something strange was going on in my body, and there was nothing I could do but accept it.

I gave up investigating the incident and examined the energy in my Dantian. I was astonished to discover that the energy was divided into seven different colors. The seven-colored energies interwove into a single stream, resembling a rainbow. The colors were faint, but I could distinguish them: red, blue, brown, green, azure, white, and black.

At the center of the rainbow whirlpool, seven small but bright colored threads of energy drifted around like small fish in a stream. If I hadn’t observed closely, I would have missed them.

I tried to channel those threads into my Spirit veins, but no matter how much I tried, they didn’t respond. It felt as if I couldn’t manipulate them with my current strength. Could I manipulate them in the later stages? I could only speculate.

But it was intriguing that the energy was divided into seven colors. A thought suddenly popped into my head—both interesting and horrifying. Even I couldn’t fully accept the ridiculous theory, but it somehow explained the present situation.

‘Do the colors represent the basic elements?’ was the theory I came up with. If that’s true, I can’t even imagine what the future holds. Imagine being able to use the Arts of every basic element!
