Chapter 25 - Second Inheritance

Index

The Energy Dragon roared ferociously, as if shaking off invisible shackles that had bound it until now. As I hurriedly refocused my mind on my Dantian, the dragon had already charged into my Spiritual Veins, like a bulldozer on a racetrack.

But as it emerged from my Dantian, a portion of the Energy from the Dragon split off and remained in the Dantian region in the form of a smaller Dragon. It coiled around itself and settled in a corner of my Dantian as if it had fallen asleep.

The Energy Dragon rushed out of my Dantian and filled my entire Spiritual Vein network. Not a single vein was left unoccupied. The veins began to bulge under the pressure exerted by the Energy Dragon. However, they had already undergone constant nourishment from the supportive Energy provided by the Seed and had been baptized by the Blood Essence of the Red Energy of the First Inheritance. Therefore, despite feeling constricted, I was confident that my veins’ resilience could withstand the assault of this Energy Dragon.

As expected, the veins stretched to their limit but could not be broken by the Dragon Energy. After a prolonged period of constriction, the Energy Dragon began circulating through the veins in the same pattern as normal Spirit Cultivation.

As the Energy Dragon surged through the Spirit Veins, the veins expanded several times over. Even without the destruction–reconstruction cycle, the resilience of the Spirit Veins did not diminish. In fact, they grew stronger and more flexible.

The world within my Spirit Veins expanded dramatically, and the Energy Dragon could be compared to an incredibly strong force tunneling through them, causing them to surge with a tyrannical aura.

This tyrannical force eventually made its way past the Spirit Veins, affecting the muscles and bones, and even changing the skin under the Energy Dragon’s influence. I could feel my physical body transforming, being strengthened to a degree that felt as though I was transcending my mortal shell into something tyrannical. This strength evidently stemmed from my Bloodline, the Draconian Race.

This strength did not feel foreign or externally imposed like Body Cultivation. It felt like an integral part of my existence, something I was born with. In a sense, that might be true.

So this is what my father meant by the tyranny of Draconians, embodying the physical strength of a Dragon in human form.

At the same time, just as with the Fiend God Legacy, two bright bluish-green threads appeared from the Energy Dragon just before it was completely absorbed by my body. One of them entered my brain, transforming into a cluster of information. Surprisingly, it was not a cultivation technique as I had first thought. It was a description of an ability I had gained from the Awakening of the Blood Legacy.

“Dragon Sense”

The Dragon Sense skill is a type of sensory ability inherent only to the Dragon race. The perception of Dragons is radically different from the world we sense through our five senses. A human’s senses can only observe the world in a physical state. They cannot directly see ethereal substances like energy or aura. But Dragons possess an extraordinary sense that enables them to perceive these substances.

Draconians, being the result of Dragon-Human crossbreeding, do not have the physical aspects of the Dragon’s Senses. However, the Dragon’s bloodline ability changes the physical senses of the human body. To put it in saintly terms, it can be said that the hardware of the human body now operates with different but upgraded software downloaded from an external server.

The other bluish-green thread made its way into my chest area and eventually disappeared. The place where it vanished hinted that it went into my Soul Realm, but neither I nor LILY could enter the Soul Realm. I could only hope that the Energy Thread would be gentle with my Virgin Soul. Inside the Soul Realm…

If Azalon could see his Soul, he would have dropped his jaw to the floor. The Soul Resonance Cultivation Technique he practiced had split his soul into 58 Soul Fragments. But what he didn’t know was that, after being split, 56 of the Soul Fragments had arranged themselves into 7 groups, each flashing with a single color.

The remaining two Soul Fragments had a color within them and revolved around each other. The 7 groups of Soul Fragments orbited these two Soul Fragments in circular paths, each with a different orientation.

At that moment, these 7 groups of Soul Fragments consolidated into a Single Soul with a different color from the original bluish-green hue of his Soul. It could be said that the 7 Souls were now considered a separate entity from the Original Soul.

As the Energy Thread entered the Soul Realm, the Souls revolving around themselves suddenly stopped. Immediately, the Energy Thread dissolved into a gaseous state and completely enveloped the entire Soul Realm. It began contracting until it covered only the region where the Soul Fragments were present. It appeared as a sphere of dense fog roiling in a vast space.

The fog then split into 9 smaller spheres, each surrounding an individual Soul Fragment. The fog sphere covering the Main Soul began contracting until it bore its way into the center of the Soul. It appeared as a single drop of liquid flashing brightly within that bluish-green Soul.

Suddenly, a loud roar resounded through the entire Soul Realm as the liquid drop in the Soul transformed into a Small Dragon, which raised its head and roared loudly. As the roar spread, the fog spheres surrounding the 8 Soul Fragments transformed into liquid drops in the Soul, which then turned into 8 small Dragons.

Eight different roars echoed through the Soul Realm as the Dragons appeared. What was even more surprising was that the color of the Dragons changed from their original bluish-green to the color of the Soul Fragment they occupied. At that moment, they seemed to be 9 different Dragons rather than 9 parts of the same Dragon.

A small halo-like ring appeared above the heads of each of the Dragons. The rings shone brightly once before disappearing. If observed closely, a crystal formed on the head of each Dragon, pulsing brightly. As these Crystals appeared, the size of the Dragons grew slightly. The significance of these Dragons and the crystals on their heads would become clear to Azalon only after a long period of time.

Although this took a long time to explain, only a few moments passed in the real world for Azalon.

After the Energy Thread disappeared into my Soul Realm, I felt a slight stirring in my Dantian. With the appearance of the Energy Dragon, I had forgotten about the smaller Energy Dragon still in my Dantian. As I hurriedly shifted my inner view to the Dantian, the smaller dragon slowly raised its head.

The body had shrunk to almost one-fourth of its previous size while my body absorbed the larger Energy Dragon. The previously gaseous Energy that formed its body now appeared almost liquefied due to the shrinking size of the Dragon.

The liquid Energy Dragon suddenly moved and crashed into my Dantian.

*CCCRRRAAACCCKKKKKK*

As I watched in horror, with a loud crack, my Dantian collapsed under the attack of that Dragon…
