Level 1 Strongest Sage

Chapter 355 - C-Rank Advancement Examination (8)

Index

While ‘waiting’ for the guy who’s supervising our advancement exam — Gad, was it — to be revived, I recalled what happened yesterday.

I already annihilated countless demons that I encountered up to this moment. Some of them even tried to escape to the Demon World, but I crushed the teleportation portal with my mana before they could.

Demons who could freely go back and forth between the Human Realm and the Demon Realm using portals were originally a huge threat to this world. No one knew when or where they’d appear, and even if people succeeded in cornering them, the demons would just escape and teleport back to the Demon Realm.

Humans wouldn’t survive in the Demon Realm. That’s why normally, they wouldn’t go after the fleeing demons.

— Well, ‘normally’, that is.

I can also go to the Demon Realm using the teleportation spell that I developed myself, and thanks to my static status curse, I can also freely move within that realm. So it didn’t matter at all even if the demon tried to flee to the Demon Realm.

Well, I don’t let them get that chance in the first place.

Several demons did try to attack me while I was exploring the Demon Realm, but I subjugated them all.

So, except for Sitri, who is now my wife, and her friends, very few demons — which were considered as high level existences — are left in this world. Almost none, actually.

I had almost exterminated all the demons, after all.

I didn’t allow any demon I encountered a chance to escape, after all.

I can activate and cast a magical barrier that is capable of capturing demons. It’s a magical barrier that’s made by combining a myriad of blocking spells to guarantee that even those demons that had special abilities wouldn’t be able to escape.

No one managed to escape from it until now. Naturally, it’s also effective against majin, demon race, and amorphous monsters.

And yet, somebody did manage to escape that spell.

He was observing my mansion from afar.

I already checked it with Headmaster Luarno afterward, but he told me that no one had received permission to enter the academy last night. In short, that guy trespassed into the academy of magic.

But he didn’t look that powerful… and yet he managed to escape a spell that even the demons couldn’t. He also managed to sneak right under Sage Luarno’s surveillance magic. I really had to investigate that guy.

I was contemplating those things when Gad finally recovered with a burst of light.

The second accident occurred a while ago, by the way. I miscalculated the amount of power so I ended up obliterating him.

Ah, but that’s fine.

This place had turned into my dungeon, after all.

He would be revived no matter how many times he died here.

As long as my mana didn’t run out, it would continue on.

… Well, I felt refreshed after letting off some steam with that second powerful shot.

I already avenged two cases — harassing Luna and verbal abuse toward Merdie.

And of course, his obliteration was just an accident.

It just happened that the number of shots I fired was the same as the number of things Gad did that irritated me.

Yup. Just a coincidence.

“— Urk!? You #&, $#!%!!!“

Gad was revived while lying on his back. He probably realized something as he jumped up in a fluster and charged at me.

He seemed to have a memory of the second time he got obliterated.

That’s why he must’ve thought he should put a stop on this.

Too late, bro.

“Fire Lance!”

He suddenly rushed toward me, so I reflexively caused the third accident. I wasn’t planning on firing the lance that I prepared, but… yup, I ended up doing it.

Sorry, couldn’t be helped, you know.

By the way, Gad had also hurt other people aside from Luna and Merdie. Then let’s just say the third shot was for those people.

I prepared the next spell with that in mind.

For these three times, light had concentrated in the center of the arena and when it dispersed, Gad was dressed in a simple set of white clothes. Actually, this started after the second accident.

My fire lance obliterated Gad including his clothes, so when he revived he was stark naked. My wives were behind me, and I didn’t want them to see some other guy in his birthday suit.

And so, I would put some clothes on him whenever I revived him.

The clothes were created using a spell that replicated a skill called [Create Arms]. This extraordinary skill was something that Akari, my younger sister, received from the deity of our previous world.

This skill is amazingly handy.

I’m glad I learned it.

“... Huff, ah, so this is how it’s gonna be. Got it.“

Gad, who had been revived three times in a row, didn’t attempt to attack me this round. He stood there as if he realized something.

I felt a bit uneasy, so just to make sure, I cast the fire lance spell.

Gad surprisingly evaded it.

Ah, but not completely.

Half of his body got blasted away.

And yet, Gad was laughing.

He concealed his hatred to the depths of his eyes, before speaking to me.

“Goodness, I lost.”

With an expressionless voice, Gad fell on his back.

Fourth accident.

Then Gad was revived.

“Ahh, what the heck. I don’t know why I’m still alive, but… Well, it doesn’t matter. You’re Halt, right? You pass.”

That was too easy.

I felt uneasy.

However, he already recognized his loss, so I couldn’t keep on firing spell at him.

“Is that so. Thank you.”

“Yeah. Seems like I don’t stand a chance against you no matter how I struggle. That’s why —”

Gad stepped towards me, then whispered to my ear.

“I’m gonna blow off this steam by crushing your comrades.”
